RELATIONSHIPS

The quality of our relationships greatly impacts our wellbeing.  Few areas of life can arouse the tremendous depth of feeling, both good and bad, like the people who populate our lives.  There are so many iterations, from romantic to familial to professional, and so many ways things can get complicated.  When you are caught in the same cycle with your partner, it can tap into painful feelings of despondency and hopelessness.  It’s so hard to find your way out of that hurt place.  Or maybe it's your family relationships - your mom has managed to instantly get under your skin and it’s so hard to know how to navigate an adult relationship with her.  Perhaps you want to figure out better boundaries with a friend, but it feels impossible to assert yourself with the insecurity you feel in the relationship.  And then there’s dating, which can feel so pressured and discouraging.

 

I want to help you feel more empowered, supported and connected in your life.  Together we will work to understand what gets in the way of the healthy, fulfilling relationships you long for.  The therapeutic relationship is often a training ground for people to ask for what they need, get perspective on how they relate to others, and have the experience of being accepted exactly as they are.  In this unique atmosphere, it is safe to talk about the painful experiences that inform how you relate to yourself and others.  We will bring awareness to the patterns you learned in childhood that are no longer serving you, and practice making choices that feel more aligned with who you want to be.  And then there is the relationship you have with yourself, and finding compassion for that person who is simply trying their best.  Its time to bring intention to this important part of your life.
